Each Week A Theme & Contest
Each week our programming will have a theme and a contest. Here are upcoming themes:
“Getting Started”
March 25 – April 3
This first week and a half of programs didn’t have a theme or contest, but set the stage for great things to come.
Spring Week
April 6 – April 10
Inspired by Spring and Spring holidays, build Eggs, Ducklinks, Bunnies, and Flowers. Contest is building a decorated egg!
Monsters Week
April 13 – April 17
Using the LEGO 31102 Fire Dragon, we’ll build a week of monsters inspired by the LEGO set and our own imagination. On Friday, we’ll announce the Monster Contest.
Machines Week
April 20 – April 24
We will use our own parts and common household supplies to build machines and games. The week will end with the kickoff of the inventor’s contest.
LEGO Gadgets
April 27 – May 1
Students should get the Klutz LEGO Gadgets book and we’ll build projects from the book, improve them, and learn how they work.
Animation (2 Weeks)
May 4 – May 15
We’ll use our tablet computers to create movies using stop motion animation techniques. At the end of week 1, we’ll start the Animation contest to win an iPad Mini 2.
About Twitch.tv
Bonanza TV is hosted on Twitch.tv. It is a platform mostly for live streaming games. We chose Twitch for a few reasons, including:
- No log in required to watch. Unlike a lot of platforms, you don’t need an account to watch.
- Free for Us & You. It is free for us and you to use, which makes it easier to deliver these free experiences.
- It’s easy to use. A lot of people are use work tools like Zoom, and they’re complicated. Twitch is as easy as going to their site!
- Don’t Miss Out, Even if You Missed Out! Each episode is saved for 14 days, so if you missed out, you can catch up on your schedule!
Twitch Heads Up/Warnings:
- The platform was started for broadcasting gaming, and most users do that. Some games include mature content. If you stay on our channel, you’re safe, but monitor your kids after we log off.
- Log in are required for interaction, including Follow and Chat.
Share Your Creations!
