Bonanza Educational Coronavirus Update
Our mission is to provide fun, educational, and valuable extracurricular and enrichment programming for students in the communities we serve. As the novel coronavirus also known as COVID-19, continues to impact every aspect of our daily lives, we are unable to fulfill that mission.
We respect the decisions our community leaders have made to close the schools for the safety of all members of our community. As a result, our programming is also on hold until further notice.

Spring Classes Are Cancelled
As of Monday, March 30th, 2020, all spring classes are cancelled due to the closure of schools through the end of the School year. We will be processing refunds today for all deposits we’ve received, and they should hit your bank by the end of the week. If you signed up with your school district, contact them for information on refunds.
We have no plans to cancel any of our scheduled classes at this time. A majority of our school district and community partners across the valley are remaining optimistic that, just like during the “Red 4 Ed” school closures, we will be able to resume classes with a modified schedule in the near future. Exceptions are listed at the end of this section. For this reason, any pre-payments for Spring 2020 classes will continue to be held either by Bonanza or our school district partners unless you specifically request a refund.
We promise that, should the schools get the go-ahead to resume instruction,
we will work together with our district partners to reschedule all Spring 2020 programs. We believe that after all of this disruption, when the kids return to school, they will want and need something special and fun to do, and we plan to be there for them! That said, in the event we receive notice from the state that school will not resume this year, we will promptly cancel all programming and issue immediate refunds.
- Late on March 23, Cave Creek Unified School District announced any classes scheduled set to commence before 4/10/2020 will be cancelled completely and refunded. In the event school resumes, we will work with them to reschedule and open registration for these cancelled classes.
- On March 24th, Kyrene Elementary districted announced cancellation of all Community Education Programs through year-end. Class fees will be refunded in the coming days.
Some Automatic Class Reminders, Etc, May Still Come
Between us and our school district partners, a myriad of software is set up to provide you updates and reminders about classes. Once these are set up, they’re hard to stop. Please ignore any emails that you get reminding you about classes, as they are postponed until further notice.
Coming Soon! Online Livestream “Classes” & Courses
We’ll soon be live streaming mini classes for your kids to tune in and build along with a Bonanza instructor. These classes will be FREE for everyone and they will feature short activities using LEGO most kids can find in their buckets at home.
If school closures continue past 4/10, Bonanza will be introducing online courses that would require parents to sign up, pay a small fee, and may require they purchase some basic supplies via Amazon or LEGOShop.
Even the most optimistic projections coming from our leaders suggest it would be unwise for us to go on trips to crowded places, travel on crowded airplanes, busses, and trains, and be away from our doctors and family this upcoming summer.
Bonanza is aware that as we shift into a cautious new normal this summer, there may be space for small group summer camps to be held safely and in a way that gives parents and kids a much needed break.
Bonanza’s current summer schedule is up in the air, but as we find some clarity, we will share that with you.
The current plan is: Summer Camps this summer!
The health and safety of the students we serve, their families, our district partners, and our employees are our primary concern. We will continue to monitor this situation and we remain committed to maintaining communication with you during this time. Please continue to visit our website for updated information. If you have specific questions, please contact us.
Thank you for your loyalty and for your continued support. Take care and be well!
